Being Thankful on November 9

rebecca in monthly theme, thankfulness

I’m thankful for God’s word, the Bible.

But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:14-17 ESV)

It’s through scripture that we know Christ. It’s through scripture that we know that salvation is found in him alone. It’s through scripture that we know what God desires of us.

I’m thankful that like Timothy, I have been acquainted with the scripture since childhood. Being trained in the scripture was like eating and sleeping in my home. When I was a child, I assumed that every other Christian home was like mine, but I’ve learned in adulthood what a rare thing it was.

What are you thankful for?

I’m celebrating good gifts from God during the month of November and hoping you’ll be thankful for your good gifts, too. Here’s how you can join in the thanksgiving and even, perhaps, get something material from it. If you’ve posted something you’ve posted something you’ve expected me to include and you don’t see it on the list, please let me know. I do miss things sometimes.
