Don Carson again, this time on 2 Thessalonians 3:6–13, which, he says, “is unique in the New Testament,” for “[n]owhere else do we find so many lines devoted to the sin of idleness.” What was needed, says Carson (and Paul) was some whip-crackin’ toward those who claim to be Christians but don’t work.
Mandatory Obedience
Tom Schreiner on whether perfect obedience to the law is necessary for salvation (Between Two Worlds). I know many would answer this question with a “no”, but it might be that they haven’t thought things through very carefully.
