Sunday's Hymn

Here a hymn I sang in church this morning:

Savior, Like a Shepherd Lead Us

Savior, like a shepherd lead us, much we need Thy tender care;
In Thy pleasant pastures feed us, for our use Thy folds prepare.
Blessèd Jesus, blessèd Jesus! Thou hast bought us, Thine we are.
Blessèd Jesus, blessèd Jesus! Thou hast bought us, Thine we are.

We are Thine, Thou dost befriend us, be the guardian of our way;
Keep Thy flock, from sin defend us, seek us when we go astray.
Blessèd Jesus, blessèd Jesus! Hear, O hear us when we pray.
Blessèd Jesus, blessèd Jesus! Hear, O hear us when we pray.

Thou hast promised to receive us, poor and sinful though we be;
Thou hast mercy to relieve us, grace to cleanse and power to free.
Blessèd Jesus, blessèd Jesus! We will early turn to Thee.
Blessèd Jesus, blessèd Jesus! We will early turn to Thee.

Early let us seek Thy favor, early let us do Thy will;
Blessèd Lord and only Savior, with Thy love our bosoms fill.
Blessèd Jesus, blessèd Jesus! Thou hast loved us, love us still.
Blessèd Jesus, blessèd Jesus! Thou hast loved us, love us still.

What is required in the fourth commandment?

The fourth commandment requires of all men the sanctifying or keeping holy to God such set times as he hath appointed in his word, expressly one whole day in seven; which was the seventh from the beginning of the world to the resurrection of Christ, and the first day of the week ever since, and so to continue to the end of the world; which is the Christian sabbath,[1] and in the New Testament called The Lord’s day.[2]

Gas Up: June 19

June%2013%20gas%20sign

My gas price is the same this week as last, $1.449 per litre.  I suppose I drive less than most of you, so I’m not really hurting….yet.

The plans are to install a new furnace over the summer—if I can find someplace that’s not too busy to do the work—so I hope to save a bunch of money on fuel next winter. The man who came over today to check things out laughed at my king-sized old furnace.  I take it that king-sized, when it comes to home furnaces, is not good.

On the other hand, the price Dorothy pays for gas went down by 1¢ per gallon. She also has posted a run-down of the gas prices in Wisconsin during her trip there last week.

How ‘bout you tell me about your gas prices? Are you making any changes in the way you do things as a result?
