Heavenly Places

Once again, it is my Out of the Ordinary day. I’ve posted briefly on Ephesians 2:4-6:

The phrase in this passage that intrigues me most is this: “seated us with him in the heavenly places.” Even though Ephesians 2:1-10 is one of my favorite passages, and one I’ve spent plenty of time studying, I’ve never been sure I understood exactly what it means that I—or perhaps more precisely, God’s people corporately, including me—have been seated with Christ in the heavenly places.

Thankful Thursday

I’m thankful for

  • the water in lakes, rivers, and oceans. For water that keeps crafts afloat and sustains creatures, especially the fish I love to eat.
  • the groundwater that provides the water for my town, and the wells and pipes that brings it to my home.
  • the hot water from my hot water heater.
  • the baby pool in the back yard that holds the water my granddaughters like to swim in.
  • for rain today, lots of it, greening the lawn, growing the garden, and preventing forest fires.
  • the living water of the Holy Spirit given to those who believe in Jesus.

What are you thankful for?

This Week in Housekeeping

There were two recent posts on the regulative principle of worship on 9Marks Blog. I’ve added them to the theological term post on the regulative principle, and I hope you’ll check them out.
