Thanksgiving 13

I’m thankful for flowers. I don’t have many in the house right now, just a blooming African violet in the kitchen window that I admire while I’m washing dishes, but usually I have a bouquet or two in the house unless the weather’s too cold to bring flowers home easily. Sometimes youngest daughter buys flowers for me in the Vancouver airport, where they are fresher and cheaper than any I can get here, and flies them home with her. And in the summer, I enjoy all the wildflowers blooming in the woods and all the flowers that grow in my flower beds.

Flowers are a good gift from our Father, who created a beautiful world for us to enjoy.

What are you thankful for today?

Here are three ways you can join in the thanksgiving.

  • Mention something you’re thankful for in the comments here and I’ll included it in one of my thanksgiving posts, or
  • Email me to tell me what you’re thankful for and I’ll include it in a post, or
  • Post your thankful thought(s) on your own blog, send me the link(s), and I’ll link to your post(s). If you plan to make your thanksgiving posts daily during the month, let me know that and you won’t need to send me daily links.

More details here.

If you’ve got a thanksgiving post and I missed it, please let me know so I can add your link.

Thanksgiving 12

I’m thankful for the Westminster Divines. They were a wise bunch, you know. Obviously, since I’m baptistic, I don’t agree with everything they say in the Westminster Confession or the Catechisms, but the answers in the Larger Catechism to the questions on prayer, which are what I’ve been posting lately, are rich, rich, rich. I’m thankful for the truths they teach us and for the men who worked to give us these wonderful historic church documents.
