My gas price is the same this week as last, $1.449 per litre. I suppose I drive less than most of you, so I’m not really hurting….yet.
The plans are to install a new furnace over the summer—if I can find someplace that’s not too busy to do the work—so I hope to save a bunch of money on fuel next winter. The man who came over today to check things out laughed at my king-sized old furnace. I take it that king-sized, when it comes to home furnaces, is not good.
On the other hand, the price Dorothy pays for gas went down by 1¢ per gallon. She also has posted a run-down of the gas prices in Wisconsin during her trip there last week.
How ‘bout you tell me about your gas prices? Are you making any changes in the way you do things as a result?

Lots of reports today!
- Candy is still doing a little traveling, but they are renting a car for the big trip:
It took a half a tank of gas to take my grandkids up to Donner Lake and back in my truck today. Donner Lake is about 30 mi. away up in the mountains. We rented a car and are driving up to Portland Ore. to visit a church, go to Monergism Books and check out the area. I am interested to see what we spend in gas.
- threegirldad is from Kansas, but he gives a report on the gas prices in Seattle, too:
It’s been yo-yoing between ~$3.60 and ~$3.90 for 2 - 3 weeks now. Suddenly, though, I’m much less inclined to complain. I just spent a few days in the Seattle WA area, and gas near Sea-Tac Airport was around $4.60(!)
- Kim reports on the price of gas in her part of Ontario and tells us what she’s doing to save gas:
I put some gas in the other day before I went to visit Carla, and it was 1.36, so we’re still faring a little better than other places. I’m currently driving a rental because my van is still in the shop, and the mileage is better than my van.
I have definitely been taking fewer trips around town, and trying to walk more and combine the trips.
I have also been encouraging a rather lethargic 16 year old son that he can walk to the video store.

Last night I paid $3.95 in Weatherford, Texas. The other day while filling up the pump kicked off right at $75.00. I thought that was really great that it “happened” to stop at such a convenient number. Later I found out that that was just the limit, and that the pump always cuts off at $75.00.

I don’t drive much, so I haven’t noticed much difference in my little car, but Tom drives a Volvo turbo and we are thinking of trading it in. (It’s time anyway)
Just yesterday he told me that it’s getting downright dangerous to drive back and forth to work these days because of all the people riding bikes. There are bike riders that know the rules of the road and then there are bike riders that don’t have a clue how to ride in real traffic with cars. We’re also seeing a lot of fathers biking with a kiddy cart attached to the back of the bike. Scary. Some of the daddy bikers clearly haven’t yet realized that riding a bike with the kid in the back isn’t the same as driving the little tykes in the back seat.
