A Thankful November: Specs
Thursday, November 1, 2007 at 4:13PM
Every day in November I’m going to try to post something I’m thankful for. I’ve made thanksgiving the blog theme for November for the past two years and I’m repeating it this year. And just as I did in previous years, I’m inviting your participation.
The instructions for participation are simple:
- Mention something you’re thankful for in the comments here, and I’ll included it in one of my thanksgiving posts, or
- Email me to tell me what you’re thankful for and I’ll include it in one of the thankful posts, or
- You may post your thankful thought(s) on your own blog and send me the link(s), and I’ll link to your post.
What am I thankful for today?
How about eyeglasses in general, and my glasses in specific? I’d be blind without them, and my whole life would have been much different if I didn’t have access to a good pair of glasses.
What are you thankful for?
What are you thankful for?
- Kim from Hiraeth is thankful for the friends she studies with.

I think I'm going to copy you worthy ladies and put up some of my own thankful posts, and I'll link yours too.
I don't post much anymore obviously, but I never thought about my glasses. I have worn mine since I was in the third grade and am also very thankful for my glasses.
I am thankful for my fourth and fifth grade students. They told me today that I make History really fun because I act out the parts in the texts. Today it was the French convincing the Indians to side with them against the English before the French and Indian War.
Yesterday I told them how special the Reformation was and we had an opportunity to discuss the Reformation a bit. My fellow teachers also didn't know that it was Reformation Day, and they are excited about marking it as a special teaching day next year.
I'm going to copy Kim as she copies you, because it's just so good to focus ON the good like this. Thank you for doing this again this year Rebecca, it's been a real blessing to read these in prior years.
Well they say that imitation is the highest compliment, so I think I'll join you ladies by doing the same on my blog--hopefully EVERY day, but we'll see about that!
I am so glad you are doing this again, Rebecca. Thankfulness is such an important part of every Christian's life! So...I am thankful for you and your blog and thank Him for the encouragement it gives me.
And since I have worn thick glasses (or contacts) since age 5 I am grateful for my glasses also.
This is a great idea. Thanks for the aid to remind us to be more thankful.
I've posted over at my blog too.
