A Thankful November: Those Who Shovel Snow

shoveling_snow.jpgThis morning, early, I went to the bank. We had a little bit of snowfall overnight and the sidewalks were already clear. There was an elderly lady at the bank who had spent some time this morning finding her cane with the ice grip tip, but she was tickled pink that she didn’t have to use it, and she told everyone she encountered how pleased she was that the sidewalks were shoveled.

So I’ll join her in being thankful to those who keep our sidewalks clear and for those who keep our sidewalks clear.  It’s not only the elderly who benefit from their injury-preventing work.

Other thankful folk
Doesn’t that list make you thankful, too? Why don’t you participate in being thankful with us? Here’s how:
  • Mention something you’re thankful for in the comments here, and I’ll include it in one of my thanksgiving posts, or
  • Email me to tell me what you’re thankful for and I’ll include it in one of the thankful posts, or
  • You may post your thankful thought(s) on your own blog and send me the link(s), and I’ll link to your post.
  • If you’ve posted something thankful and I missed it, please remind me.

November's Recipe Round Up

recipe%20round%20up.JPG

November’s Recipe Round Up will be at Sherry Early’s Semicolon. The date is November 14; the category is holiday recipes.

I’m specifically looking for those special Thanksgiving and Christmas and Hannukah recipes that make your family’s celebration a little richer and those that get you all into the holiday spirit.

The link above will give you all the details you need to participate in this month’s collection of favorite holiday recipes. To find out more about what the Recipe Round Up is, check out this information page.

If you hosted the Recipe Round Up before July of this year, would you please leave the link to that Round Up in the comments of this post? I’d like to add a list of all the past Round Ups to the information page.

If you’d like to volunteer to host the Recipe Round Up on your own blog, the months after January are wide open. You get to decide the category for the month you host. I’ve been thinking that breads (you know, yeast, quick, muffins, pancakes, etc, etc.) might be a good one.

Please Be Cruel

When a certain northern blogger grew tired
Her editing skills left much to be desired.
So without a doubt,
You should point typos out;
That is, if you want to be admired.
