Sitting At Attention

_9209129%201.jpg

She’s sitting, but she isn’t happy about it. She’d rather be bounding over to play with the friendly looking dog walking by a few feet beyond. She’s off-leash because we’ve been cranberry picking on the hill behind her. Her job is to keep the bears away while I pick. So far, she’s been successful.

What a beauty! And brave too - both of you! We pick our cranberries in bogs - our feet get wet but no bears!

I was actually looking at the trail behind the dog. Sure looks pretty there. I love the landscape photos you post sometimes. Oh. The dog looks nice too. :)

That's the cranberry hill. I know it doesn't show, but the trail rises quite steeply, and the ground is covered with moss and cranberry plants.

She is so beautiful. Looking at the trail behind her, I am missing my Alaskan home. I miss the berrypicking, and the hiking and biking along coastal trails...even though I was born in Texas, I think I'll always be an Alaskan at heart - you never get over the North once you've lived there. Canada is just as beautiful!

Oh, you'd have to drag me away from here kicking and screaming! Except in January. :)
