Being Thankful on November 22
I’ve been an avid reader since I was very young. Reading is one of my favorite activities and it is also the way I learn best. I’m thankful today for the ability to read.
- Becky is thankful for her daughter and for music.
- Willow is thankful that she is on vacation and more.
- Ann is thankful for her daughter’s help in baking.
- Kim of The Upward Call is thankful for “parents who bring their children up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.”
- Connie is thankful for enjoyable relationships with her daughters.
- Dorothy is thankful that a cold bug is on the way out of her house.
- Julana is thankful for hot chocolate and more.
- Kim of Hiraeth is thankful for her basement refrigerator.
- Liz is thankful for her very nice JOY sign.
- Carla is thankful for her imperfect family.
What are you thankful for?
I’m celebrating good gifts from God during the month of November and hoping you’ll be thankful for your good gifts, too. Here’s how you can join in the thanksgiving and even, perhaps, get something material from it. If you’ve posted something you’ve posted something you’ve expected me to include and you don’t see it on the list, please let me know. It’s a lot to keep track of and I do miss things sometimes.

I think sometimes we take the ability to read for granted. I'm acquainted with a few senior students in my youth group whose reading skills are not as good as they could be, and now one of them is struggling a great deal in bible school. My sons have said that many of their fellow students are not good readers. I'm thankful that my kids are good readers.
My husband worked with kids who were jr. high age but didn't really know how to read. And our kids learned so naturally--almost like learning to walk. That reading comes easily (or at all) is a real blessing.
I remember when I began homeschooling, my youngest was 5 years old, and I had to teach him to read. I remember feeling very scared that I wouldn't do a good job. It only took 6 weeks of phonics instruction and he was de-coding words on his own. Once that began, it was like a floodgate had opened, and he just took off. I have heard somewhere that kids who are read to by their parents a lot are more likely to be good readers than kids who don't get read to. We read out loud a lot.
Once that began, it was like a floodgate had opened, and he just took off.
It's so wonderful when it works like that!
That is known that money can make people free. But how to act when someone doesn't have money? The only one way is to get the personal loans or just student loan.
