Seasons change fast.
Monday, October 5, 2009 at 1:18PM
This is the front of a flier from a local tire company. It came in the mail today.
Here’s this morning’s photo from my front porch.
The flier came too late. I was still wearing my flip flops.

Wow, that's a big change.
Here in Austin the seasons very rarely undergo sharp changes (and sometimes doesn't change much at all -- last winter, I think, I came back from a trip to find that there were still roses blooming in early January), but we have recently gone from serious drought to rain almost every day, which will probably leave us much cooler around here.
I start wearing my flip-flops in the Spring way before the snow is gone, but today is just ugly so I'm not even going outside. On Thursday I'm going Outside, though - to sunny/warm Kelowna for the final days of the Wine Festival!
No need to go all the way to Kelowna. I hear that there is no snow in downtown Whitehorse. :)
Have fun at the Wine Festival.
We also have a dusting of snow in the mountains surrounding us.
Awwww...that makes me eager for our first snowfall, but we're going to squeeze one more camping trip in before the end of the season.
Wichita KS still looks like last week's photo. I'd much rather it looked like this week's instead.
Time to go shopping for new shoes!
I don't recommend flip flops and the snow...
Either way, I love that view from your front porch! In fact, I'm thinking maybe we should consider the Yukon for retirement!
