Thanksgiving 12
I’m thankful for the Westminster Divines. They were a wise bunch, you know. Obviously, since I’m baptistic, I don’t agree with everything they say in the Westminster Confession or the Catechisms, but the answers in the Larger Catechism to the questions on prayer, which are what I’ve been posting lately, are rich, rich, rich. I’m thankful for the truths they teach us and for the men who worked to give us these wonderful historic church documents.
What are you thankful for today?
- Kristina is thankful for her mother.
- Elle is thankful for her Mac. (Me, too.)
- Connie is thankful for other homeschool mothers.
- Kim is thankful for her husband.
- Kim of Hiraeth is thankful for work that feels like play.
- Ann is thankful that her husband complements her.
- Lisa is thankful for breaks.
- Lisa is thankful is “grateful that because of the Lord’s mercy we do “not grieve as others who have no hope.” (1 Thess. 4:13) Instead, we can have the “full assurance of hope until the end” (Heb. 6:11) because of Christ in us, the hope of glory! (Col. 1:27)”
- Kim is thankful for joy that comes from Jesus.
- Update: Dorothy is thankful for her husband’s good job and good boss.
- Update: Julana is thankful that her “TMJ headache finally ended!
And for money to buy groceries. And for an automatice washer and dryer.” - Update: Jodi is thankful for a whole list of things.
- Update: Suzanne is thankful for (well!) me keeping things focused on thanksgiving.
- Update: Carla is thankful for Alpha and Omega Ministries.
Here are three ways you can join in the thanksgiving.
- Mention something you’re thankful for in the comments here and I’ll included it in one of my thanksgiving posts, or
- Email me to tell me what you’re thankful for and I’ll include it in a post, or
- Post your thankful thought(s) on your own blog, send me the link(s), and I’ll link to your post(s). If you plan to make your thanksgiving posts daily during the month, let me know that and you won’t need to send me daily links.
If you’ve got a thanksgiving post and I missed it, please let me know so I can add your link.

Hi Rebecca,
I noticed that the link to my post goes to Kim from On's post. Not a problem but thought you'd want to know.

Another day to be thankful! Have a great week and thanks for including me in your Days of giving thanks!
Hello Kim,
Fixed it. Thanks for pointing that out. I thought I'd fixed that (and some typos, too), but obviously, something went wrong. :)
When reading the WCF are you amazed, as I am, how well the divines could write? I'd speculate that if penned today it would have been ten times as long and most likely impenetrable.
Yes, absolutely. Simple yet deep.
