Saturday's Old Photo

From my oldest son during last Sunday’s dinner (and he was serious): “When I go some place where there are kids, they always seem to gravitate toward me. I don’t know why; I don’t have any experience with children.”

This photo was taken during our trip down the Alaska highway in 1990. Oldest son would be 11 years old and his baby brother 7 months or so.

We’re still looking fairly clean and mostly happy, so this must be the first day of travel. The door to the travel trailer is open and I’m probably in there making a pot of coffee and fixing lunch or supper.

I miss those road trips with the whole family including the pets.

We hope to take Wrigley on his first road trip this summer!
He doesn't even like to go in the car to the vet ... so this may not be a good idea!

I love your old family photos!

I bet Wrigley will love the road trip once he figures out that there's no vet involved in this car ride. And so many new smells in all the new places he'll visit. What's not to love about that?

Is he really surprised kids love him? Too funny! I don't know anyone who doesn't love him. The three new ones will love him too. After all they only want someone to acknowledge them. He is a natural with kids. Janna

Yes, he really thought he was surprised kids love him and really thought he had no experience with kids. When we laughed, he didn't understand why. He hadn't thought that spending 24 hrs a day with a brother 11 years younger counted as experience with children and didn't understand why they like him because he "acts the same around them as he does around everyone else."

Well duh!

I'm sure it will be the same with the three new ones. He will like them and they will like him.
