How many sacraments hath Christ instituted in his church under the New Testament?

Under the New Testament Christ hath instituted in his church only two sacraments, Baptism and the Lord’s supper.[1]

  1. Matt. 26:26-28
    Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.” And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.
    Matt. 28:19
    Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit
    I Cor. 11:20, 23
    When you come together, it is not the Lord’s supper that you eat.
    For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread….
