Thankful Thursday

I’m thankful for all the little annoyances of late, like cold weather and broken car and UPS no-shows, that serve as needed reminders that I am not in control. God is—and he can be trusted. I’m thankful that I have no place I need to go today, and no way to get there, either, so I have a quiet day at home in the midst of the busy holiday season. I’m thankful that my list of things to do before Christmas has only a few more things for me to do.

I’m thankful that all of the family will be here for Christmas dinner this year.

I’m thankful that the Father sent. I’m thankful that the Holy Spirit conceived. I’m thankful that the Son came and died for us.

On Thursdays throughout this year, I’m posting a few thoughts of thanksgiving along with Kim at the Upward Call and others.

Love the last line! Good reminders, good perspective. I am excited to eat lefsa, but I didn't help making it this year. Merry Christmas Rebecca.

I think God's being in control has been the theme of my thoughts during the last several months, by necessity. I'm glad for it too, because I'm so prone to think that things ought to go my way.

I'm glad your family will be able to gather together for Christmas. Hope you all have a wonderful celebration. Merry, merry Christmas!

I'm thankful for the last one on your list, too. And I wish that all could know this great thankfulness and its object thereof.

In this current journey with Dave and his cancer treatments, we read, "cancer will bring you to your knees." I wonder at what caused that man to write those words. Was he brought to his knees in prayer? Was he brought to his knees in defiance? Or, was it because he has no hope, no God to turn to?
I'm ever so thankful I've been a Christian for decades, was brought up in a Bible believing, teaching, preaching church. God's love, protection and increasing my faith are more reason for thankfulness; the list grows and grows, again, more thankfulness.
"Prayers go up, blessings come down," Thank God.
