Round the Sphere Again
The all Canadian edition.
Bet You Can’t
Name all the Canadian provinces and territories in under 2 minutes. Okay, there are only 13 total, so you might be able to name them, but the bigger question is, “Can you spell them?” How did you do?
Show and Tell
Violet spent one day last week celebrating on the streets of Vancouver and she has stories and photos. “All in all,” she writes, “it was a beautiful day….”
Fewer Peeps Than California
That hat tip for this video goes to Tim Challies. In it Tom Brokaw explains Canada to Americans. Life where I live, says he, is only for the hardy. (Did you know that one of the airports that allowed American jets to land on 9-11 is just a few blocks from my house?)
If you pause 2:00 minutes in, you’ll find the perfect cheat sheet for the Canadian provinces and territories quiz above. But you wouldn’t need to use it, would you?

The Newfies were my bane; I could only remember half the official name. Also, embarrassingly, I blanked on one name; for forty-five seconds I couldn't think of anything but 'that province next to Quebec' and 'where the Acadians are'. But spelling was not a problem.
I guess my score is 9/13 (or maybe 9.5, if the teacher is feeling generous) since I wrote "Newfoundland" instead of "Newfoundland and Labrador."
Anyone who reads this blog regularly should get at least one point on that quiz. ;-)
Didn't have any trouble with the spelling of the ones I could remember.
Yep, that "and Labrador" is tricky.
actually i'm Canadian so i didn't need 2 minutes actually, and of course i spelled them correctly.
Thanks for the link, Rebecca!
