My Place 14

September 23, 2010

This particular snow all melted yesterday. Today we’re getting more—5-8 centimeters, so they say, and it looks like they are right. Today’s snow is not, I’m sure, destined to stay, either. Still, it’s a depressing sign of what will come sooner rather than later.

It snowed here in ND last week. I couldn't believe it. It was gone the same day, but still, this winter is looking ominous.

My son lives about an hour north of us, and he said there was snow last week. Today, it's 28 Celsius.

Well .... it's a winter wonderland out there now, except that there are still leaves on the trees. I should post another photo.

We have a small electric grill just the right size for two of us. This winter it will reside in the garage off the kitchen where we will enjoy using it all winter! Electric grills produce no carbon monoxide making them perfect for garage use...if you don't mind smoky walls. lol

Fresh snow always looks so clean and white. It is supposed to be a dandy of a winter according to the *old weathermen* here in PA. They are usually right according to past weather prognostications. Our weather has been unusually warm - yesterday it was up to 88 degrees now today it is back down to 67. I've noticed the dogs' coats are filling in and some farmers are telling that their animals' coats are thicker ... hmmm ... I think we should pay attention to the animals, prepare and stock up ... what do you think?

Nice work getting the last of your garden in! I am lamenting over the unharvested veggies in my garden. I know it doesn't help, but I do know how you feel.

I'm busy stocking up, Pam. But I always stock up for winter. :)

Jen,

I hate when I leave vegies unharvested, but sometimes there's nothing we can do about it.
