Recommended for Listening IX

On the comments for this post, in which I recommended the MP3 Library at Monergism.com, Connie said this:

Now how did you KNOW I was in search of great websites where I could find quality sermons to download to my ‘new’ toy (mp3 player)?

Which gave me an idea for another cooperative list post. Let’s list web sources for quality sermons in mp3 format to download for free. I’ll start by listing a couple sites that I’ve used and I’m hoping you’ll add one or two of the sites you’ve used. Okay?

  1. There is, of course, the already mentioned MP3 Library at Monergism.com.

  2. And there’s an mp3 blog in my blogroll called Faith by Hearing. (Don’t go looking on my blogroll for it. I’ve disabled the roll temporarily because it was loading every-so-slowly or not-at-all.)

  3. Update, August 29: threegirldad adds Desiring God,

  4. The GraceLife Pulpit (aka Sword and Trowel),

  5. and his own pastor, Dr. Kelly R. Randolph of Country Acres Baptist Church.

  6. Update, August 30: Connie suggests SermonAudio, which she used to downloaded some Puritan sermons. She listened to “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God” (Edwards) and “Christian Joy” (Watson) on her walks. [Note added by me: If you’re interested in church history or biographies, you will enjoy many of the historical lectures by Michael Haykin at Sermon Audio, too.]

  7. Connie is also planning to download some sermons by S. Lewis Johnson at Believers Chapel.

Your turn. What are your suggestions?

This is great! Thanks Rebecca!

I used www.SermonAudio.com to downloaded some Puritan sermons--listened to "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God" (Edwards) on my walk yesterday, and "Chritian Joy" (Watson) today.

And, I'm planning to download some sermons by S. Lewis Johnson at www.believerschapeldallas.org

One of my favourite preachers is Edward (Ted) Donnelly. I'd recommend trying him out - He's a Reformed Presbyterian pastor from Northern Ireland. You can get him on Sermon Audio.

http://www.sermonaudio.com/source_series.asp?sourceid=trinity560

I'd recommend his sermons on Jacob or Jeremiah, or Puritan Conference 2009

I know he preaches at conferences in the USA quite often, but I'm surprised he's not better known - some may know him as the guy who wrote the forward to Tim Challies' favourite book on the Cross - THe Cross he Bore by Fredrick Leahy.

A profound and yet clear and simple preacher.
