Thankful Thursday

Well!

Yesterday, the pups—our David and the neighbour’s dog that youngest son is dogsitting—got themselves quilled by a porcupine on the afternoon walk. David had more than 30 quills stuck in his face; Fred (that’s the neighbour dog) had only a few in his face, but the removal of several broken quills from his paw required surgical incisions. It made for a hectic several hours between the time of the attack (on the poor porcupine) and our return home with two groggy doggies.

So I’m really thankful for veterinarians because I wouldn’t want to remove all those quills, especially without sedation. I’m also thankful for the timing of the incident—we avoided after-hours fees by a hair.

I’m thankful for the new dryer that—finally!—arrived yesterday. I’m thankful we got it set up in the laundry room before the dogs’ afternoon walk.

I’m thankful for more beautiful fall weather. I’m thankful that the snow we had last week is gone.

I’m thankful that God provides for us, and for our pets, too.

On Thursdays throughout this year, I plan to post a few thoughts of thanksgiving along with Kim at the Upward Call and others. Why don’t you participate by posting your thanksgiving each week, too? It’ll be an encouragement to you and to others, I promise.

As the proud "father" of two new puppies myself, I am also thankful for veterinarians. It's a profession that exists to serve creatures who can't really show gratitude or express thanks, much less help themselves through medical emergencies. Veterinarians, whether they know it or not, honor God by showing kindness and love for God's creation. In an unusual way, I think they live out the lesson of the good Samaritan in their work.

Yet another thing I've never seen or experienced: porcupines and their quills. You live in an interesting place, Rebecca.

Oh, the poor pups! That is such an unpleasant thing for a doggie to endure.

And, yay for the dryer!

Oh, the poor pups! We have porcupines around and I'm thankful that Libby hasn't tangled with one. She did get royally skunked though, and that's another horror. I hope the pups heal well.

And yay! for your new dryer. Just in time for winter weather!

I thank God for the kingdom that He's given me which I don't deserve and I thank Him for allowing some of His Saints to rest in some of my cells and enjoy this beautiful country music that I'm listening to right now cause they so deserve much much more than a simple cell of mine after receiving The Body and Blood of Christ cause they've done so much for U>S (usual sinners) and in reality I thank God for all of our grand children and some who had to move to our Capital City in order that our C. F. child can gets the best of care and by the way I thank God when our C. F. Child say that for him, C. F. (Systic Fibrosis) stands for Christ First. Go Figure!

There's so much more that I should and am thankful for but I'll leave "IT" at that for now.

God Bless,

Peace

Dogs and porcupines...not a good mix. I thank God for caring veterinarians too.

I notice that I wrote (Cystic) with an S instead of a C.... I know that we Christian don't judge by spelling mistakes but in this case, I should have known better.... Well maybe I was thinking of the S in sins cause I have so many of them. :)

Who's Laughing? :(((

Peace
