Thankful Thursday

My youngest granddaughter spent the day with me, doing all kinds of cute toddler things, like putting two bowls from the play kitchen on top of the stack of real bowls in the kitchen. Everytime I see those plastic toy bowls there, it warms may heart and makes me thankful for the joy my little grandchildren bring into my life.

I’m also thankful

  • that, except for the kale, the garden is in for the year.
  • for the extra time I’ll have for other projects now.
  • for crisp fall air and snow in the mountains.
  • for the beautiful wooded trails that surround my subdivision, and frequent trail walks with dogs and grandchildren.
  • for the bucket of cranberries picked yesterday.
  • for a few new opportunities.
  • for this upcoming Thanksgiving weekend.
  • that Jesus always lives to make intercession for me.

 What are you thankful for?

Theological Term of the Week

sensus divinitatis
The innate true knowledge of God that all human beings have because they are created in the image of God; also called sensus, for short, or sense of deity.

  • From scripture:
  • For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened.  (Ephesians 1:18-21, ESV)
