Thankful Thursday

I’m thankful for the greens and the radishes harvested from the garden. I’m thankful for the not-yet-ripe tomatoes on the tomato plants. Vegies from the garden are a blessing from our good God who sends the sun and rain so we can grow food.

I’m thankful that youngest son will be home tonight from his trip to  Vancouver to buy a suit. (I’m thankful that youngest daughter’s employer gives discount air travel tickets to family members of employees.) I’m really thankful that returning son will take over some of the responsibility for walking the dogs.

I’m thankful for a home that stays cool when it’s hot.

I’m thankful for the good news, aka the gospel.

On Thursdays throughout this year, I plan to post a few thoughts of thanksgiving along with Kim at the Upward Call and others. Why don’t you participate by posting your thanksgiving each week, too? It’ll be an encouragement to you and to others, I promise.

I am thankful for the following: dental insurance, my 3 promising tomato plants and my beautiful roses.

I always love to hear you talk about your garden. I used to love helping my aunt in the garden with her veggies.

I hope that doesn't mean you're having tooth problems, Karen.

I'm with Kim---love the garden report. I really wanted to have a garden this year, but alas, it didn't happen. Maybe next year, but then I think about the deer and how nuts I'd be if I did all the work to create a garden and they ate my veggies. Do wildlife leave your garden alone?

I didn't get my own post up, but I am thankful for a working dryer. Two days ago it didn't work, but my husband, amidst a very busy schedule, fixed it yesterday. Last night my daughter threw up on all bedding, pillows, curtains, stuffed animals and some clothes. All day I thanked the Lord that the dryer worked. I enjoy garden reports too - I like to compare our growing status - Yukon is definitely ahead.

Yukon gets hot?

Never humid, but sometimes we make it into what would be the 80s or 90s in your language.
